QEMU for Haiku Now Available

Haiku developer Michael Lotz has released the first version of QEMU processor emulator for Haiku. This Haiku-specific port — a successor to QEMU for BeOS, the port that Michael Lotz maintained for several years — is up to date and includes most features found on other supported platforms, including a native GUI, an audio backend and the kqemu accelerator.

Users of QEMU for Haiku can expect very good performance from this port, as it includes the kqemu accelerator, a host driver that delivers in many cases near-native execution speeds by executing guest code directly on the host CPU.

QEMU for Haiku can be downloaded from Bebits.com. To install, expand the ZIP package from the boot folder of your Haiku installation.
