There is talk that the above presentations will be recorded and video footage will be made available at some point after the event. This is good news for all Haiku fans worldwide, as it will not only serve as valuable educational material, but it will also give a peek into the Haiku development community, as many of the core developers are expected to attend the event. Some of this year's Google Summer of Code and Haiku Code Drive students are also expected to participate.
BeGeistert is organized by the Haiku Support Association (HSA). Formerly known as the BeFAN club, HSA is an organization of Haiku users and developers whose objective is to promote the development and further adoption of Haiku.
The Haiku Coding Sprint will take place right after the BeGeistert weekend. Historically, this hacking event has been very productive, resulting in increased development activity that has brought many improvements to the Haiku code base. This year's Haiku Coding Sprint is being sponsored by Haiku, Inc.
